At TREND Health Partners, we want to encourage community education. We have compiled a list of local (Nashville, TN) resources where community members can gather and recognize black history month.

- The National Museum of African American Music – Explore various genres and the integrated history African Americans played in American music. The museum offers interactive technology to help share stories of 50+ musical genres. Guided tours are held on weekends.
- United Street Tours – Multiple walking tours are offered throughout the year, each telling the stories of Nashville’s previously enslaved population. The goal of the tours is to introduce participants to the food, music, and artwork of Nashville while inspiring and empowering them to “build bridges, and contribute to the community.”
- Black History Month Memorial 2022 – On Saturday, February 26, 2022, Hermitage Church hosts its annual memorial for those once enslaved at The Hermitage and throughout the country. The memorial always features music and a guest speaker; this year is Dr. Naima Johnston-Bush. Dr. Johnston-Bush will lead the participants on “a musical adventure that explores the Negro spiritual as a historical American art form.”
- Tennessee State Museum – During February, the Tennessee State Museum offers Black History Month Tours. These tours are 45 minutes long and highlight African American culture, specifically in Tennessee. These tours are free to the public.
- Racial Justice Teach-Out: Racial Injustice in Colorblind Policing and Prisons – *Hybrid Opportunity* On February 21, Vanderbilt University offers a hybrid panel discussing racial injustice in the prison system. Panelists include Dr. Rosevelt Noble, Assistant Dean of Residential Colleges; Rahim Buford, Founder of “Unheard Voices Outreach” and a formerly incarcerated activist; and Jamel Campbell Gooch, community organizer.
